Jill Day - 19th November 2023

This was a very different Jill day to the others in the year. This day marked 1 year since losing Jill and as much as we all want to celebrate her life, everyday, not just on Jill day, today was not a celebration, but just an awful reminder that we have gone a year without Jill in our lives.

But, I was glad for some distraction throughout the day. I started my day watching the sunrise as I did a 5km run with my Dad at the harbour.

I went and watched my niece’s dance concert. She danced beautifully. I wore my Kitenge dress and literally as I took my seat a stranger two seats down from me told me how beautiful my dress was. There was also a dance performed by the little kids, who had their concert the weekend prior, but made a special appearance at this one. They had these beautiful rainbow outfits on with rainbow streamers on their wrist dancing to a song with lyrics “Waving my rainbow to the sky”. So this made me smile 🌈

Then just a quiet afternoon and evening nursing a migraine and feeling angry about a situation no one can change. Proud of everyone for making it through a very tough day, however that looked. Love to you all too 😘💕
