The Letterbox Project is a national pen pal program fostering connection and community, with handwritten letters being sent across Australia to people feeling isolated and disconnected.
Jill was such a positive and bubbly person and her ability to make friends and connect with people was infinite, so even if that wasn't Anna & Tessa's intention behind adding it to the list it still seems very fitting.
The premise is quite simple, you subscribe and are matched with a pen pal, you then write to that pen pal via the organisation who vet the letter (for security purposes) and then forward the letter to the pen pal and vice versa. Almost like PayPal but for letter writing.
I was matched with a lady named Maddi and wrote a letter to her back in September. And today I finally received a letter back. She wrote it in October, so it is a bit of a slow process but I was really happy to receive her letter today.
I don't want to share the contents of her letter, so instead I thought I would share a sweet letter I received from Jill back in Primary School which I have held on to all these years.
