#34. Bake a rainbow cake

I went for an early morning walk on Friday and saw a rainbow, so I took that as my sign from Jill to make a rainbow cake this weekend.

I think it turned out pretty cute and will be gorging myself on it for the coming week!

It's actually my sister's birthday today 29/01 but this cake is not for her (Don't worry Mum has made her a cake). Sheree hates buttercream whereas I LOVE it! This reminded me of the buttercream cake Sheree made me for my 31st Birthday. That birthday was extra special because Sheree surprised me with organising two of my best friends, Jill and Shona to be there.

Why my 31st? My Grandad passed away two days before my 30th birthday so no celebrations were had for obvious reasons. So, my sister wanted to make up for it for my 31st. Unbeknown to me, she had got in contact with Jill & Shona to see if it was possible for them to come to Mackay to surprise me. I was so shocked to see both of them, but even more so to see Jill, as she had only visited me in Mackay a couple weeks prior when we went and saw an Elton John Concert together. I can't tell you how much it meant that both these ladies dropped everything to be there that night.
