Following lunch for Jill Day, I decided to build my sandcastle. Jill originally did this with her sister Megan and recorded it on a Timelapse, I followed suit and enlisted the help of my sister Sheree and my niece Harper tagged along also. Mum and Dad were spectators towards the end.
It was a beautiful hot summer's day but maybe not ideal conditions for swimming as per the sign below. #mackaylife
I settled for a traditional looking sandcastle and turns out, building a sandcastle is harder work than you remember as a kid. Harper quickly abandoned our sandcastle to make her own and she ended up making something that resembled Stonehenge 🤣 But Sheree and I soldiered on, creating a glorious sandcastle (in our opinion), with a moat, a stick for a flag (Jill's had a stick so this was a nod to hers), '101 Adventures for Jill' written in the sand as a welcome mat, guarded by 2 crocodiles which seemed fitting with the beach sign.
Dad did try to help by taking a photo at the end, but he ended up stepping on and destroying my crocodiles and writing which I had to redo, at which point I let Sheree take the photo. Mum also added her two cents in at the end with some ideas, which would have been helpful at the beginning 🤣 I somehow thought I could put water in the moat not taking into account that it's sand and it just just evaporated straight away. But here was my attempt.
This was Harper's sandcastle.
All said and done it turned out ok. Wouldn't necessarily class it as 'giant' but I think Jill would respect the attempt.
