I was excited to do this one, as I've often thought about learning to knit. I found this company online and thought this kit was cute. I probably could have gone to Spotlight and picked up a much cheaper option, but this came with Merino wool, which is apparently good quality, so if I'm going to do it, I might as well do it right. I picked out a pattern for a Kane Scarf, as a scarf seemed like it would be the easiest thing to make as a beginner.
I only started this on 5th June and finished it 23rd June. It's probably not going to get cold enough in Mackay to wear too often, but I wanted to finish this before July, just in case a cold day hits and I do get an opportunity. Although the scarf is a bit wider than I was expecting, I'm pretty happy with the end result.

Luckily my Mum knows how to knit, so she was available for help if and when I needed. Thanks Mum! But I am pleased that I only required her to fix my mistakes on three different occasions. Jill and I joked throughout the years that our mothers didn't pass on their sewing and knitting abilities to us 🤣 But to be fair, I don't think it was their lack of trying, but more so our impatience to learn, but it's never too late!
Here is me modelling my scarf 💙
And a picture of Jill with hers 🤎
